Deep
Garden

If humanity wants a fair, liveable future on the planet, we need to cultivate different deep dispositions for our societies to orient around.

This site

This site is the product of a collaborative design process to respond to this challenge in the UK. You’ll find an archive of research and insight, a tool for mapping work, an imagined approach to a collective response, and examples of the kinds of work this approach suggests.

What is deep disposition?

‘Deep disposition’ is a way of referring to the deep layers of sense and meaning that weave beneath and between our cultures and systems — the unconscious bedrock that our conscious thoughts, actions and designs emerge from. Like a cultural habit, deep dispositions take work to reorient.
